VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL <br />MAY 8, 1923 Minutes of Regular Meeting of the Village Council held at the Library Room on Tuesday May 8, 1923. Present -C.A. Morse, Geo Cornelius and B.E. Fournier, Trustees and W.F. Chadbourne, Clerk M.K. Iliff President of the Village Council presented his resignation as President. On voting duly made seconded and declared carried his resignation was accepted.On motion of Geo Cornelius seconded by B.E. Fournier Trustee C.A. Morse was duly appointed to fill the remaining term of M.K. Iliff as President of the Village Council. C.A. Morse presented his resignation as Trustee which was duly accepted.Mrs. F.M. Plank and Mrs. Albert Bailey representing the Community Club came before the Council and asked that the Council do something in regard to furnishing city water and improving the Park new the M.W. Church. On motion the matter was referred to the committee on Streets and Water Works with recommendation to Pass. L.D. Bailey came before the Council and asked that the sidewalk on Minnesota St be completed to connect with Main Street. This walk was ordered put in two years ago and all but one property owner has complied with the order. There being two other instances of this kind. On motion the Clerk was ordered to notify these parties that the sidewalk must be put in immediately.Mr. Flaherty of the Elk River Garage asked for a permit to put in a gasoline pump at the north end of his garage. On motion his request was granted. The Clerk was instructed to publish a notice in the Star News to the effect that all water rents that are not paid on or before the 201h of May the water will be shut off. This will mean 12 people will be deprived of their supply of water. E.A. Mouldenhauer having complied with all the requirements to sell milk in the Village was granted a license. The following bills were presented and on motion allowed and clerk ordered to draw warrants for same. Dr. J.A. Jaeger Testing cows 25.00 Jeremy Clute burying dog 1.00 H.R.
