VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL <br />MARCH 13, 1923 A regular meeting of the Village Council was held at the Library Room on Tuesday, March 13, 1923 Present - M.K. Iliff, Pres, C.A. Morse, Geo Cornelius, Trustee, W.F. Chadbourne, Clerk Meeting called to order by the Pres. at 7:30 p.m. Dr. J .A.Jaeger City Milk Inspector presented a report as to the application for License to sell milk by the following persons and recommended they be granted. Guy LaPlant, Anthony Byson, H.C. Hastings, W.H. Ross, Herman Gruepner, W.RJones and Bert Carr. On motion the report was accepted and Clerk ordered to issue license to the above applicants with the exception of Guy LaPlant whose application was granted but needed a few more particulars. Fred Ayers Fire Chief presented his report of the fire at the Bishop Meat Market and bill for attending same. Grover Malrupe asked for a renewal of his license to operate his bill and Pool Tables and Bowling Alleys. On motion his request was granted and Clerk ordered to issue the same on the following basis 10.00 for first table and 5.00 each for all additional table and 5.00 for each alley. Moved and carried that the council join the League of Minn. Municipalities. The Clerk was also instructed to correspond with the Jefferson Highway Transportation Co in regard to the obstruction of the streets and also to furnish a shelter for its waiting passengers. The following bills were presented and on motion allowed. l't National Bank Compensation Ins 38.15 Elk River Blacksmith Co repairs 2.25 Minn State Fireman Ass'n dues 3.00 Dalys Garage acc't fire engine 14.50 Frank J White atty fee 5.00 Fred Ayers Fire Chief attending Bishop fire 13.00 Dues to League of Minn Municipalities 10.00 85.90 No further business adjourned.
