VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL <br />DECEMBER 12, 1922 A regular meeting of the Village Council was held on Tuesday Dec 12, 1922 Present- M.K. Iliff, Pres, C.A. Morse, Trustee, W.F. Chadbourne, Clerk Visitors - H.B. Nickerson and Jacob Phepson representing the Twin City Milk Products Co. Parsons, Bailey, and Nyquist. Com. Clerk C.C. Hickenau, LG. Nelson, Dr. J.A. JaegerThe first matter considered was the question of water rate charges the Twin Cities Milk Products Co. It seemed that there had been some misunderstanding in regard to the subject in the beginning and the Co. was anxious to have the matter definitely settled. The council informally made H.B. Nickerson a proposition to charge the Co. a flat rate of $20.00 per month for the City water this was satisfactory to Mr. Nickerson who stated that he would submit this to the company for approval. The next order of business was the 2nd reading of Milk Ordinance referred to com. At the last meeting. Ordinance No. 17 Entitled a Milk Ordinance for the Village of Elk River After being read a motion was made by C.A. Morse Treas seconded by W.F. Chadbourne Clerk that the above named ordinance be adopted. Roll ordered called by the Pres. C.A. Morse aye, W.F. Chadbourne aye, M.K. Iliff aye. Motion declared carried by the Pres. On motion duly made seconded and declared carried Dr. J.A. Jaeger was appointed to see that the conditions of Milk Ordinance No. 17 was carried out. His salary for so doing to 25.00 for year. The E.R. Power and Light Co by Mr. L.G. Nelson offered to decorate a Christmas tree in park if the Village would furnish the tree. This public Christmas tree was carried out successfully last year. It was the unanimous opinion of the Council to accept the above proposition. Mr. John E. Hamlet Trustee have moved away from the Village verbally tendered his resignation as Trustee. No action was taken in regard to the appointment of his successor at this meeting. The flowing bills were presented and on motion duly made seconded and declared carried were allowed.
