VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL <br />APRIL 26, 1922 Council met at the Library Room on Wednesday April 26, 1922. Present-M.K. Iliff, President,J.E. Hamlet, Geo Cornelius, Trustees. W.F. Chadbourne, Clerk. Meeting called to order by the Pres at 9 o'clock a.m. Ordinance No. 14 entitled An Ordinance to License Public Dance Halls and Public Dances was presented for acceptance on motion of Geo Cornelius Trustee seconded by John Hamlet Trustee the roll was called on the above ordinance with the following result. M.K. Iliff Pres ayeJohn Hamlet -Trustee ayeGeo Cornelius -Trustee ayeW.F. Chadbourne -Clerk ayeNoes -noneOrdinance declared adopted and ordered printed Ordinance No. 15 entitled An Ordinance to define drunkenness and prescribe punishment therefore was presented for acceptance. On motion of Geo Cornelius trustee seconded by John Hamlet the roll was called with the following results. M.K. Iliff Pres aye John Hamlet Trustee ayeGeo Cornelius Trustee ayeW.F. Chadbourne Clerk ayeNoes noneOrdinance No. 15 declared adopted and ordered printed. On motion duly made seconded and declared carried the Village Marshal was instructed to see that all advertising signs were removed from the highways. On motion duly made seconded and declared carried John Hamlet Trustee was authorized to sell Village Pile Driver C.W. Lee of Minneapolis applied for the privilege of operating a shooting gallery in the village.
