West, Fire Chief S. <br /> <br />DATE: January 9,2006 <br /> <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Authorization to Purchase Outdoor Warning Siren <br /> <br />As part of our capital improvement plan for outdoor warning siren replacement, in the 2006 budget <br />is a siren to be located at 191 st Avenue NW and York Circle. The newly purchased outdoor warning <br />siren will replace an old three-phase Thunderbeam siren which at this time is over 20 years old. <br /> <br />Enclosed is a quotation from Federal Signal Corporation for a model2001SRNB outdoor warning <br />siren and all the accessories needed for a total of $11,429.25. This total includes sales tax and <br />shipping. It is anticipated there will be a 3% - 5% increase in the cost of outdoor warning sirens <br />February 1, 2006. <br /> <br />Once again, the Elk River Municipal Utilities will be assisting in the replacement project at 191 st <br />Avenue NW and York Circle and I would like to thank Line Superintendent Glenn Sundeen and his <br />staff for all the assistance with the outdoor warning sirens.
