Elk River Library Services Coordinator Report Efl <br />To the Elk River Library Board - October 24, 2023 <br />Statistics <br />• Circulation: Year to Date as of September 30, 2023 = 159,855 (2022 YTD 158,604). Circulation <br />continues to increase. (2022 showed monthly decreases). <br />• Express Checkout: averaged 49.1% of total check out; increase in reference questions and new <br />library cards (staff intensive). <br />• New Library Card Registrations: 599 new cards (Jul -Sep); year to date 1,834 (1,645 ytd 2022). <br />Programs July - September <br />• Ages 0-6: 14 programs reaching 260 community members <br />• Ages 6-11: 25 programs reaching 259 community members <br />• Teens: Four programs reaching eight community members <br />• Adults: Six programs reaching 73 community members <br />• Outreach: Two activities reaching 852 community members <br />• Class Visits to the Library: 13 reaching 195 community members (youth) <br />• Summer Reading Program Total: 1,074 Participants who read 390,720 minutes. We gave away <br />684 books. <br />News <br />• Staffing: As of 10/11/2023 Elk River Library is fully staffed. Of 11 staff, seven are new to ER as of <br />May 2023. Our staff, in order of GRRL seniority are: Laura Cassidy, Sherri Rasmussen, Jackie <br />Hague, Margot Barry, Angie Kapphahn (sub), Hannah Sorenson, Allison Skinner, Ibett Gomez, <br />Keegan Agyekum, Nick Wilson, and Dawn Oleen. <br />• Collection Management: We have been and continue to engage in a large review how the <br />collection engaged. Working with the Collection Development team in St. Cloud, we are <br />relocating items and reworking the floor plan to increase visibility and accessibility. The Library <br />will be contacting the city this quarter about moving some fixtures to create better site lines <br />and collection engagement, first in the adult collection, and then in the children's area. <br />• Elk River Library will be attending Community Connect on October 19, Ilam-2pm. We will <br />promote library collection offerings, give away children's books, share events, and encourage <br />library card registration. <br />• The Friends of the Elk River Library will hold their book sale October 26 (4-7pm), October 27 <br />(10am-5pm), and October 28 (10am-1pm). <br />11Page <br />
