Patron Services Supervisor Report <br />To: <br />Elk River Board <br />CC: <br />Margot Barry, Library Services Coordinator <br />From: <br />Jeannette Burkhardt, Patron Services Supervisor <br />Date: <br />October 24, 2023 <br />Marcile Carlson Gift <br />5.2 <br />Distribution of the annuity was originally thought to be over the span of 20 years. In September we were <br />informed that the annuity needed to be paid out within 5 years due to the structure. The full annuity <br />amount will be paid out to GRRL in November. <br />Reading Bridge program <br />Reading Bridge program is moving forward. We are in the process of selecting the necessary materials for <br />the program and scheduling training with the Reading Coordinator -Karin Emerson. This program is being <br />paid for using funds from the Marcile Carlson gift. <br />Collection Development Committee <br />The Collection Development Committee held its last meeting on October 3. The Committee will presented <br />its recommendations at the October 10 work session of the GRRL Board. Action on the final policy will take <br />place at the November 21 GRRL Board meeting. <br />2023 Year -End Campaign <br />The 2023 Year -End Campaign has begun. This fundraising effort runs from October to the end of January <br />and benefits the GRRL library system as a whole. This program helps make projects such as the Try It <br />Yourself Kits, expansion of the digital library, WiFi2 Go and the Beanstack app possible. The dollar goal for <br />this year is $90,000. The Board of Trustees and Friends groups have already received the Year -End letter. <br />Past donors will receive letters starting November 1, 2023. <br />\'a-MB <br />RIVERREaI N& <br />RARY <br />
