<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />November 7, 1955 <br /> <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Elk River Village Council was called to order by Mayor Schwartz on <br />Nov. 7, 1955 with all members present. The minutes of the last regular and special meetings were <br />read and approved. <br /> <br />Harry Dreissig, Fire Chief, reported that the Fire Department needs some new hose. A motion was <br />made by Bailey and seconded by Meyer to authorize the Fire Department to buy 200 feet of hose. <br />Carried. <br /> <br />Upon motion by Briggs and second by Dow the on and off beer license of Sherman Sachs was <br />renewed for one year. <br /> <br />A communication was received from the Elk River Associated Industries Inc. regarding zoning of <br />the village. The letter was placed on file but no action was taken. <br /> <br />Marshall, Oliver Micheau, who recently resigned was present at the meeting. He asked to be <br />reinstated as Marshall. A motion was made by Briggs and seconded by Meyer that Oliver Micheau <br />be reinstated as Village Marshall at the same salary as before and that the Council shall regulate the <br />hours to be worked by the Marshall and deputy. Motion carried. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Briggs and seconded by Dow to set the hours for the coming village election <br />at from 9 A.M. to 7 P.M.
