Members Present: <br />Members Absent: <br />Special Meeting of the Elk River <br />Economic Development Authority <br />Held at the Elk River City Hall <br />Monday, August 7, 2023 <br />Acting President Mike Beyer, Commissioners Cory Grupa, Matt Westgaard, Jennifer <br />Wagner, Jeff Hartwig, and Charlie Blesener <br />President Dan Tveite <br />Staff Present: Economic Development Director Brent O'Neil, Economic Development Specialist <br />Joshua Mollan, and Deputy City Clerk Jolene Richter <br />I. Call Meeting to Order <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River Economic Development <br />Authority was called to order at 5:46 p.m. by Acting President Beyer. <br />2. 2024 EDA Budget and Goals <br />Mr. O'Neil presented the staff report regarding the goals. <br />The commission discussed the BR&E Program. They agreed the engagements should be more <br />personable. Some suggestions were to make phone calls, send out letters, have an open house, and <br />possibly have forums. <br />Mr. O'Neil presented the staff report regarding the budget. <br />It was the consensus of the commission to support the division goals and accept the <br />recommendations as listed in the budget report. <br />3. Die Concepts Loan <br />Mr. O'Neil presented the staff report. <br />It was the consensus of the commission to agree with the recommendation for extension and to bring <br />it back to the August 21, 2023, Economic Development Authority regular meeting for a formal <br />decision. <br />4. Motion to Adjourn <br />Moved by Commissioner Blesener and seconded by Commissioner Hartwig to adjourn the <br />meeting of the Special Economic Development Authority. <br />Motion carried 6-0. <br />
