<br /> <br />Request for Action <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />To Item Number <br />Mayor and City Council 8.1 <br />Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by <br />General Business May 15, 2023 Michael Hecker, Parks and Recreation Manager <br />Item Description Reviewed by <br />Updated Park Improvement Fund and Park Joe Stremcha, Assistant City Administrator <br />Dedication Fund projects <br />Reviewed by <br />Cal Portner, City Administrator <br /> <br />Action Requested <br />Approve, by motion, the updated Park Improvement Fund (PIF) and Park Dedication Fund projects <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br />The Parks and Recreation Commission directed staff to include additional amenities at Lion John Weicht Park. <br />The Commission recommends the City Council reallocate project funding from the Park Improvement Fund <br />(PIF) and Park Dedication Fund (PDF) to pay for the improvements. <br /> <br />The following are their recommendations for changing the various project funding sources: <br /> Lions John Weicht Park Playground <br /> PIF was reduced from $200,000 to $100,000 (cost to replace the current playground) <br /> PDF was increased from $0 to $309,000 (new market value improvements) <br /> WTRP Storage Garage <br /> PIF was reduced from $150,000 to $17,600 (the current 2023 tax assessment amount) <br /> PDF was increased from $0 to $132,400 (new market value improvements) <br /> Misc. PIF items added to 2023 <br /> Security cameras and cabling at Orono Park ($6,500) <br /> Relocate electric utilities and install Sonotube Concrete Forms for the YAC shade structure ($17,800) <br /> Misc.
