<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 7, 1966 <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Elk River Village Council was held at the Village Hall on Feb 7, 1966. All <br />members were present. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Coles. The minutes of the last <br />meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />Fire Chief Harry Dreissig was present. He says the village needs a tanker for extra water on account <br />of outlying districts where there is no city water. Also he says that the village will need a new fire <br />truck before very long. <br /> <br />Police Chief Micheau attended the meeting. He says the Police car needs overhauling and was asked <br />to get prices. <br /> <br />The matter of manager for the Municipal Liquor Store. The applications have been considered. A <br />motion was made by Hudson and seconded by Bartelt to hire Mr. Robert S Reynolds of New Ulm at <br />a salary of $500.00 a month. Motion carried all voting in favor. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Hudson and seconded by Bartelt to employ an assistant manager at the <br />Liquor Store at a salary of 15 cents per hour above the bartender salary. Motion carried. <br /> <br />In the matter of a new floor for the Library a motion was made by Syrvig and seconded by Hudson <br />it was decided to go ahead with the new floor and employ Gene Vassar at a cost of $262.20 Carried. <br /> <br />The clerk was asked to write the Highway Department at St. Cloud that repairs are needed on Sixth <br />Street between Proctor and Quinn Avenues. <br /> <br />The following bills were allowed: <br />Fire Extinguisher Co nozzle 6.65 <br />Gopher Stamp and Die signs 16.11 <br />Sherburne County copies ord. 2.50 <br />Farm Bureau gas-oil 25.03 <br />Bank of Elk River insurance 92.00 <br />Burroughs parts 1.90 <br />Rosenthal Ford parts .40 <br />Fire Department fires 327.00 <br />Oliver Micheau subsistence 15.00 <br />Oliver Micheau extra work 79.50 <br />Walt Coles meeting expense 7.00 <br />Library Acct. books 90.41 <br />Linda Swen asst. 27.50 <br />Bob Peterson asst 17.00 <br />Oscarsons Mobile gas-oil 82.61 <br />Davis Food Anderson case 45.28 <br />LeRoy Pike labor 310.63 <br />Art Barnier labor 287.00 <br />Robert Syvig meeting 8.50 <br /> <br />
