<br />ELK RIVER TOWN BOARD MEETING <br />MARCH 12, 1974 <br /> <br />Meeting was called to order by the clerk. The clerk nominated F. Madsen as moderator for the <br />meeting DR Moldenhauer gave his treasure report. He stated we have four funds Revenue, Road & <br />Bridge, Poor & Revenue Sharing. He gave the balances as of the date of the annual meeting. Rev <br />15335.44 – Rec and Poor Fund 3038.70 – Road & Br 18,587.75 these were starting balances as <br />March 1973. In certificates were Road and Bridge 10,000. Poor 3000.00, Rev 10,000. There was <br />some discussion about the cost of blacktop roads in relation to levy at meeting. The next order of <br />business is the levy to be set. Wallace Fox moved, seconded by Erwin Specht that $20,000.00 be <br />raised for Road and Bridge. <br /> <br />Julius Nemeth moved seconded by Wallace Fox that $5,000.00 be set for Revenue Fund. So carried. <br />The next order of business was annual fee for legal council. Mrs. Wallace Fox moved seconded by <br />Bill Brady that a limit of $4000.00 be set of attorney fees limit. So carried. <br /> <br />The next matter was summer recreation program donation. Some discussion took place in regard to <br />a possible township park. A motion was made by John Grant seconded by Dan Lucas that $2200.00 <br />be levied for Park and Recreation. So carried. Carl Neville moved that the study group be authorized <br />to make a study of a park system. Seconded by Mrs. Fox. So carried. Mike Hanlon moved seconded <br />by Dan Lucas that this study be made jointly between the Town and Village. So carried. <br /> <br />Carl Neville moved seconded by Mr. Duitsman that the clerk be instructed to publish the minutes of <br />the meeting. Also the board be instructed set salary. So carried. The matter of a dog ordinance was <br />brot \[sic\] up. The attorney is to look into this matter. Ron Kuhn called for a show of hands for <br />those who would like a change of street names in their area. 14 hands showed out of 49 present. The <br />result of the election were as follow. For supervisor 3 yrs EL Specht 127 Wallace Fox 40 Douglas <br />Stillwater 26 <br />For Clerk two years Everett Rathbun 181 H.
