<br />ELK RIVER TOWN BOARD MEETING <br />AUGUST 6, 1973 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by the chairman EL Specht with all members present. <br /> <br />The first order of business was the opening of bids on the Horvath job. The bids were as follows. <br /> <br />Laurence Kreger Construction 7282.00 <br />BiCon Construction Co 12,126.00 <br />Walt Ham Properties 13,930.00 <br />W.G. Rehblein Brothers 8,858.00 <br /> <br />It was moved by F. Madsen seconded by Earl Schulke that the contract for the Horvath road be <br />awarded to Laurence Kreger with a stipulation that a separate contract for a completion date be <br />th <br />drawn. The motion so carried. The starting time is to be Aug 25 with 35 working days of 5 day <br />weeks. <br /> <br />Next the bids were opened for the road from Cargill farm out to Highway (ten) part with Ramsey <br />Township the bids were as follows. <br /> <br />Elk River Blacktop 19,817.00 <br />H&S Asphalt Co 17568.44 <br /> <br />Frank Madsen moved seconded by E. Schulke that the above bids be tabled subject to clarification <br />by the town engineer of the wording of the bids. Motion so carried. <br /> <br />Next business was Earl Beard asked if the dispute on lot lines in Gary Santwire Addit. Would hold <br />up the Anna Meyer road surfacing. He was assured it would not. <br /> <br />Next Gary Santwire appeared. The question he had in mind was asking the township to pay the <br />difference to have his road hot mix instead of cold rolled. Frank Madsen moved that the Township <br />will pay the difference if cost for hot mix on Gary Santwire road over cold mix. Gary is to pay <br />2880.40 toward cost. Earl Schulke seconded. Motion so carried. Earl Sculke moved seconded by EL <br />Specht that the engineer check. This road be class 5 gravel and shaping. Motion carried. Frank <br />moved that be accepted bid of Elk River Blacktop for $4975.00 to pave the street in Village Estate. <br />This road to run from corner at Eldon Beard West and North to County Road 35 seconded by Earl <br />Schulke. Motion so carried. <br /> <br />Next Bruce Schwan appeared in behalf of a group in Lloyd Anderson addition. Brenteson son <br />appeared for Big Lake Gravel Co. He stated that they were removing road laid in this area and plan <br />to relay new coat. Brenteson stated they are correcting the situation and job will meet the town <br />board requirements there being no further business the following bills were ordered paid.
