<br />ELK RIVER TOWN BOARD MEETING <br />MARCH 13, 1973 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by the Clerk. A motion was made and seconded that Franklin <br />Madsen be moderator – so carried. The moderator called for a treasurers report. The books were <br />audited and found correct. Balance at beginning of year were Revenue Fund 14,677.00 Road and <br />Bridge 32,956.00 Poor 6,237.77 <br /> <br />Present Balance are Road & B 18587.75 Revenue $14,731.44 Poor $3038.78 <br /> <br />The levys for upcoming year is to be as follows. Road and Bridge $10,000. Revenue Fund 4000.00 <br />Poor $2500.00. Julius moved seconded by Bill Brady that the above stated amounts be levied – so <br />carried. A report was made by F Madsen on land purchase. option in effect on land of Enno <br />Schmidt. John Oliver and Associates have been working on streets and avenues and house numbers. <br />By the middle of April the numbers should be ready to assign. A motion was made by Robert Elver <br />and seconded by Mrs. Nemeth that the wage for election judges be set at $3.00 per hour. Motion <br />carried. Julius Nemeth moved – seconded by Wm Brady and that the treasurers salary be set at 16.00 <br />per meeting. Motion carried. Wm Brady moved that we engage services of our present legal council <br />for a wage note to exceed $4000 per year seconded by Mike Dwyers. So carried. Robert Elver made <br />a motion that the township select an engineer to design road for plats. The cost of engineering in <br />plats be paid by developer. Wm Brady seconded motion. Motion carried. Wm Brady moved and <br />seconded by Mrs. Nemeth that the specifications on roads be deferred till a engineer goes over <br />them. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Wm Brady moved that up to $2000 be authorized for Parks and Recreation programs. Seconded by <br />Julius Nemeth. Motion carried. Motion was made to adjourn so carried.
