ELK RIVER TOWN BOARD MEETING NOVEMBER 6, 1972 The monthly meeting of the Town Board was called to order by the Chairman Franklin Madsen. A man from the Highway Department met and showed his plans to change the location of land they wish to purchase to the east side of the 169 cut off as opposed to the location on the west side of same road. The land in question is now owned by Eno Schmidt. A motion was made that a ring of land 450 NS wide and 650 EW long be changed to grant a change to I2 General industry district for Highway shops. Motion made by E. Specht and seconded by Earl th Schulke. The motion carried. The board plans to meet with Enoch Schmidt at 1:00 PM Sat Nov 11. Laurence Kreger met with the board and reported that he has the grading done on road north of little twin lake. He stated that Ted Moritz wanted two approaches to said roads. A motion made by Earl seconded that the board give Laurence Kreger 100.00 each for 2 approaches. The motion carried. A motion was made by Earl seconded by Everett that 1200.00 be advanced to Laurence Kreger as partial payment on road. Ernie Toth appeared to see if Elk River Twp has fire protection. He was assured we do. A motion was made by Everett Specht and seconded by Earl Schulke that Elk River Township sign the fire contract with the Village of Elk River. Motion carried. A motion was made by Earl Schulke and seconded by E. Specht that the beer license for bowling alley be approved. Motion carried.
