<br />ELK RIVER TOWN BOARD MEETING <br />NOVEMBER 11, 1971 <br /> <br />Mr. and Mrs. Laren Sauter appeared before the Board in regard to getting relief assistance. Mr. <br />Sauter said he is twenty one yrs old and is out of work. He comes from Cedar Minn and his wife <br />came from Coon Rapids. Mr and Mrs Sauter has not resided in this township to date but are living <br />with her parents in Coon Rapids. It was recommended they go directly to Anoka County for relief. <br /> <br />A Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Johnson appeared in regard to welfare help they live on Rte 3 Elk River. <br />They moved to this area in August of 1971. They have 3 children. He has been laid off from Electric <br />Machinery. They were mainly interested in getting surplus commodity food. A motion was made <br />that surplus food be recommended for the Johnson’s. Motion carried. The clerk is to contact the <br />county welfare for same. <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned. <br />EV Rathbun <br />Clerk <br /> <br />Nov 11, 1971 <br /> <br />The Town Board met in special session the renewal of a beer license for Progressive Enterprises Inc <br />came up. A motion was made by E Specht seconded by Franklin Madsen that this license renewal be <br />granted. Motion carried. <br /> <br />E. Rathbun <br />Clerk <br /> <br />Franklin Madsen moved that the clerk send a letter to the planning commission stating that the Elk <br />River Town Board goes on record as being opposed to any permanent mobile home being placed in <br />this township.
