<br />ELK RIVER TOWN BOARD MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 13, 1971 <br /> <br />The Town Board was called to order by the Chairman Earl Schulke. The clerk read the minutes of <br />the previous meeting. Minutes were approved as read. A motion was made by Frank Madsen <br />seconded by EL Specht that ordinance No. 1 be published in the Star News also be adopted as <br />written by the Law firm of Douglas, Bell, Donlin, Schultz, and Peterson. The motion carried. Notice <br />thth <br />to be inserted Sept 16 and 30 of Sept. A motion made and seconded that Elk River Town Board <br />purchase signs and Lake Orono Assn by \[sic\] posts and install signs. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Curtis Christie and Bob Erickson met with the board to explain that the State Highway Dept would <br />like to get a change of classification on a parcel of land west of Highway 169. A motion was made by <br />EL Specht that the classification of land along highway one hundred sixty nine (169) be extended to <br />a distance of 600 feet back from highway and along some highway approximately 350 feet. Also area <br />to be enclosed by cyclone fence and screened by green treas. area in 27-33-26 owned by Enoch <br />Schmidt seconded by Frank Madsen. Motion carried. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Franklin Madsen that the application by mobile home park be denied on <br />basis that it will feasible because of tax load on our school district. <br />Seconded by E Specht. Motion carried. A motion was made by Frank seconded by EL Specht that <br />Gary Santwire bill be paid as billed. Motion carried. <br /> <br />A motion made by F. Madsen and seconded by E. Schulke that the bill for H&S for work done on <br />Avon Acres also Ridgewood less bill for $1975.00 and a letter be sent to H&S stating that there is to <br />be collected from Neil Larson.
