City of Elk River <br />City Council <br />Resolution 23-09 <br />A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Elk River Supporting <br />Corridors of Commerce Funding For the US Highway 10/169 Safety and <br />Congestion Mitigation Project <br />WHEREAS, US Highway 10/169 is a State Highway used for personal and freight <br />transportation with local and regional connections; and <br />WHEREAS, traffic volumes continue to grow as the regional population increases; and <br />WHEREAS, the safety and performance of this corridor continues to decline every year; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, existing and future traffic volumes are such that congestion is and will <br />continue to negatively impact the ability of the corridor to move traffic; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Elk River, in partnership with MnDOT, Sherburne County, <br />Anoka County and the City or Ramsey has developed preliminary locations and layout for <br />two grade separated interchanges; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk <br />River, Minnesota, as follows: the Elk River City Council supports a project that provides <br />two grade separated interchanges (TH10/169 at Twin Lakes Road and TH10/169 and <br />Adams Street) and associated frontage and backage road connections consistent with the <br />locally supported option that has been included in the recently completed Highway 10 <br />Corridor Study. <br />Passed and adopted this 21" day of February 2023. <br />hDMayor <br />ATTEST: <br />Tina Allard, City Clerk <br />PIIEIEI I <br />NATURE <br />
