<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL <br />APRIL 6, 1912 <br /> <br />Annual meeting of the Village Council was held on April, 1912 at the office of Geo. E. Page, <br />President. <br /> <br />Geo. E. Page, President, B.F. Plummer, Geo. Worden and E.P. Babcock Trustees and W.F. <br />Chadbourne, Clerk. Visitors Frank T. White and Herman G. Gr{illegible}. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by President at 8:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The minutes of the last meeting read and approved. <br /> <br />On motion the following special committee were appointed; B.F. Plummer to confer with County <br />Commissioner in regard to securing aid from the County in repairing the bridge{illegible}on bridge <br />over Elk River at upper town. <br /> <br />E.P. Babcock committee to confer with businesses were in regard to necessity of employing Marshal <br />and street lightener. <br /> <br />W.F. Chadbourne committee to ascertain as to town of Elk River helping to paint bridge over <br />Mississippi river and also to examine grade on Princeton St and ascertain whether the grade as <br />established can to {illegible} with in regard to {illegible} in road at or in front of Creamery. <br /> <br />Meeting to be held the last Saturday of each month. On motion. Resolved. That the regular meetings <br />of the Council shall be held on the last Saturday of each month and a card be published in the Star <br />News to that effect. <br /> <br />On motion. Resolved that the clerk’s salary be $25 for the year 1912. <br /> <br />The following bills were presented and on motion duly made seconded and carried were allowed and <br />clerk ordered to draw warrants for their respective accounts. <br />Elk River Lumber Co. – coal for needy persons - $17.00 <br />J.E.
