VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL AUGUST 5, 1911 A regular meeting of the Village Council was held on August 5, 1911 in the office of Geo. E. Page. Present: Geo. E. Page, President, B.F. Plummer, Geo. Worden, E.P. Babcock Trustees, W.F. Chadbourne, clerk. The meeting was called to order by President at 8:00 p.m. The minutes of the last meeting read and approved. The following bills were presented and on motion duly made seconded and carried were allowed and Clerk directed to draw orders on the treasury for their respective accounts. Lee Sluback – street work - $18.50 L. Pollard – street work - $39.00 John Blocker – street work - $10.90 Fred Nickerson – street work - $151.35 Ben Daniels – street work - $75.20 H.G. Bargabos – street work 0 $51.15 Frank Hall – cement work - $3.00 Thomas Lloyd - street work - $25.95 H.C. Hastings – weighing potatoes - $57.00 Ben Daniels – street work - $4.00 J.E. Hamlett – gasoline - $8.25 On motion of Babock seconded by Plummer it was resolved to build a sidewalk from Minnesota street to Thomas street on Depot street also to J??? wooden sidewalk with cement wolk at the foot of Mills hill to street on motion W.F. Chadbourne was instructed to look after the building of said sidewalk. On motion Geo. E. Page was authorized to look after covering streets from public square to the RR crossing and to cover street from crossing to Village limits. On motion Mr. H.C. Hastings was allowed $3.00 per day as weigh master at city scales time dating from July 19, 1911 until the council further ???? Mr. Hastings reported that he had received to day for weighing $105.00. He was instructed to turn over money to treas and report at the regular meetings of the council. No further business, meeting adjourned. W.F. Chadbourne, Clerk.
