<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL <br />JULY 1, 1911 <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the Common Council was held on July 1, 1911 in the office of Geo. E. Page. <br /> <br />Present: Geo. E. Page, President, B.F. Plummer, E.P. Babcock Trustees, W.F. Chadbourne, clerk. <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by President at 8:00 <br /> <br />The following bills were presented and on motion duly made seconded and carried were allowed and <br />Clerk directed to draw orders on the Treasury for their respective accounts. <br /> <br />Good furnished Mrs. Kane, a needy person by W.R. Smith - $13.11 <br />J.E. Hauelet – gasoline for hauling engine - $11.25 <br />W.L. Babcock Sons Co. – goods for Village - $20.14 <br />John Rither – repairing water pipes in park – $5.00 <br />The Patterson Street Lighting Co. – goods for streetlights - $68.69 <br />Minot Fourtillolte – repairing sidewalk - $7.00 <br />Geo. E. Page M.D. – fumigating and ex. - $30.40 <br />Elk River Lumber Co. – lumber for sidewalk - $103.35 <br />Frank Ingusoll – work on sidewalk - $9.00 <br />Geo. Worden – work on sidewalk - $11.50 <br />A.N. Dare – printing Ordinance No. 59 - $3.00 <br />F.D. Waterman – assessing 1911 - $75.00 <br /> <br />The following resolution was adopted by unanimous consent that the Village donate $25.00 for <br />benefit of G.A.R. for Decoration Day and $25.00 for benefit of July 4, 1911 celebration. <br /> <br />The Village clerk was instructed check up with Harold Keaye the goods read from the Patterson <br />Street Lighting Co. <br /> <br />The clerk was also instructed to draw an order for $40.00 ??? being 2% of ??? if liquor license to be <br />paid State auditor. <br /> <br />Harry Hamlet, Village Marshal, having tended his resignation for said office which was accepted. <br />The council proceeded to appoint someone to fill the vacancy. <br /> <br />The following applications were considered: <br />Bargabos <br />John String??? <br />Geo. Firch <br />Geo. Cornelius <br />John Bither <br />A. L’herault <br />After due consideration by the Council it was decided to appoint John Bither for one month <br />commencing July 1, 1911 to take care of lamps and attend duties of Marshal at $60 subject to con??? <br />Of ??? to both parties. <br /> <br />No further business, meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />W.F.
