<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL <br />May 6, 1911 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the Common Council was held on May 6, 1911 in the office of Geo. E. Page. <br /> <br />Present: Plummer, President, Page, Babcock and Worden, Trustees and Chadbourne, Village Recorder. <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by the President, minutes of the last meeting were read and allowed. <br />The following bills presented and allowed and on motion duly made seconded to draw warrants on <br />treas. for their re???? accounts: <br /> <br />Harold Keays – repainting streetlamps - $3.50 <br />J.E. Hamlet – 2 ??? gasoline - $16.50 <br />Walter S. Booth – treas. receipt book and ord. book - $3.00 <br />Harry Hamlet – Marshal and street lighting, one month - $60.00 <br /> <br />The bills of Geo. E. Parsms and Geo. Biddick were laid on table until further advise from Village <br />attorney. <br /> <br />Complaints having been made in regard to violation of Ordinance No. 40 and 37 referring to riding <br />bicycles on sidewalk and horses and cattle running on the streets. On motion it was decided to instruct <br />Village attorney ??? notice in Star News that the above Ordinance would be enforced if said nuisance <br />was not stopped. (E.P. Babbcock trustee arrived at this time). <br /> <br />J.C. Hulbert appeared before Council asking permission to move a wooden building into the fire limits <br />providing said Hulbert made said building fireproof on outside. This matter was laid to table until said <br />Hulbert provided specification in regard to said fireproofing. <br /> <br />Council decided to visit upper town bridges Monday evening to see about fixing approval. <br /> <br />No other business to come before the meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />W.F.
