<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER SPECIAL MEETING CITY COUNCIL <br />MARCH 31, 1911 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />A special meeting of the Common Council was held March 31, 1911 in the office of Geo. E. Page. <br /> <br />Present: Plummer, President, Page, Babcock and Worden, Trustees and Chadbourne, Village Recorder. <br /> <br />This meeting was called to order for the purpose of taking action in regard to application of Geo. H. <br />Blanchett for a license to sell intoxicating liquor. Notice of said application having been published in <br />the Star News two weeks. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Chadbourne seconded by Babcock to lay said application on table for one week. <br />Motion lost. <br /> Ayes – Chadbourne, Babcock – 2 <br /> Nyes – Plummer, Page, Worden – 3 <br /> <br />Motion was made by Page, seconded by Babcock to gravel the application of Geo. H. Blanchett to sell <br />intoxicating liquors in the N.E. corner room of Blanchett Hotel situated on the lot (1) block (3) village <br />of Elk River for the term of one year. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Ayes – Plummer, Page, Babcock – 3 <br /> Nyes – Worden, Chadbourne – 2 <br /> <br />The application was granted subject to ordinance No. 5 placing the amount of license at $2,000. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Babcock seconded by Chadbourne that the following list of names to furnished <br />Geo. H. Blanchett as to persons to whom liquor was not to be sold at this place of business: <br /> Henry Holt <br /> Geo. Foley <br /> Charles Auspos <br /> C.H. Kleine <br /> Joe Hulbert <br /> Oliver Mausur <br /> Charles Spencer <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />No other business to come before the meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />W.F.
