<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />OCTOBER 29, 1910 <br /> <br /> <br />The Common Council met at the Bank of Elk River. <br /> <br />Members present: F.L. Salter, President, J. Virgin, L. Pollard, trustees, O.J. Whitman, recorder. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by the President at 8:30 p.m. Minutes of the last meeting were read and <br />approved. <br /> <br />On a motion made by Pollard, seconded by Virgin, the recorder was instructed to send for a <br />cancellation stamp for cancelling orders when paid. Motion carried. <br /> <br />The following resolution was presented Pollard trustee resolved that: The sum of five hundred dollars <br />be levied and assessed upon the taxable property in the Village of Elk River for the current year for <br />general corporation purposes. On motion the above resolution was carried unanimously. <br /> <br />The resignation of H.J. Hubner as Village Treasurer, on motion by Virgin, seconded by Pollard, was <br />accepted. <br /> <br />On motion by Virgin seconded by Pollard, Fred N. Corey was appointed to fill the unexpired term and <br />his bond be fixed at $1,00.00 <br /> <br />The following bills were audited, and motion allowed: <br />101 – Howe Scale Co. – 2 weigh books - $6.00 <br />102 – Dare – composition on ordinances and program for tuberculosis meeting - $.75 <br />103 – Penn Oil Co. – 1 bbl gasoline - $2.75 <br />104 – Davis Bros. – broom by Hastings - $0.65 <br />105 – Harold Keays – for street lighting lamps October - $20.00 <br />106 – M.K.
