<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />NOVEMBER 28, 1909 <br /> <br /> <br />The Common Council met at the office O.J. Whitman. <br /> <br />Members present: F.L. Salter, president, J. Virgin, L. Pollard, B. Carr, trustees, O.J. Whitman, <br />recorder. Meeting called to order by the President at 8:15 p.m. <br /> <br />Minutes of last meeting read and approved. <br /> <br />A motion was made by J Virgin and seconded by L. Pollard to have the streetlamps lighting <br />discontinued and to have the streetlamps gathered up and stored, and to discontinue the services of <br />Village Marshal on account of lack of funds. Motion carried. <br /> <br />On motion the following bills were audited and allowed: <br />W.M. Dimick – work on street, 7 days - $17.50 <br />Roy Wallace – one day work on street - $2.00 <br />J.T. Plante – ripping planks and grates @.08 - $12.35 <br />Standard Oil Co. – gasoline - $6.65 <br />Louis Trumball – 5 days work on street - $10.00 <br />George Lowe – 6 days work on street - $12.00 <br />Harry Nickerson – 5 ½ days work with team on street $22.00 <br />R.E. Dare – 3 window shades for scale house - $1.05 <br />John Bither – 2 meals furnished - $.50 <br />F.T. White – insurance on fire engine and legal services - $50.25 <br /> The Patterson Street Lighting Co. – 10 dozen mantels streetlamps - $18.00 <br />Henry Brennan – 5 days work on street - $10.00 <br />S.M. Crockett – 10 days work on street with team - $40.00 <br />Standard Oil Co. – gasoline - $3.99 <br />Chase Withiam – night watch – 2 nights - $4.00 <br />B.
