<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />MAY 18, 1909 <br /> <br /> <br />The Common Council met at the office O.J. Whiteman. <br /> <br />Members present: F.L. Salter, President, J. Virgin, B. Carr, Pollard, trustees, O.J. Whiteman, <br />recorder. Meeting called to order by President at 8:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Minutes of last meeting read and approved. <br /> <br />Request R.E. Dare to be granted a permit to erect a wood stairway on east side of his store was read <br />and on motion by Pollard and seconded by Virgin the request was granted. <br /> <br />The following bills were audited and allowed: <br />S.S. Task - ?? S?? - $2.00 <br />W.P. Rhoda – freight bills - $3.89 <br />Standard Oil Co. – 60 gal gasoline - $7.38 <br />R.E. Dare – for ???? - $2.00 <br />S.S. Task – work on Chadbounee well ?? - $12.00 <br /> <br />On motion by Virgin and seconded by Pollard to have engineer ? to come ? and look over bridge <br />and examine piers of the bridge across the Mississippi river was carried. <br /> <br />No further business adjourned carried. <br /> <br />O.J.
