<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />APRIL 28, 1909 <br /> <br /> <br />The Common Council met at the office J. Virgin. <br /> <br />Members present: F.L. Salter, President, J. Virgin, B. Carr, Polalard, trustees, O.J. Whiteman, <br />recorder. Meeting called to order by President at 2:45 p.m. <br /> <br />Minutes of last meeting read and approved. <br /> <br />The following resolution on motion by Pollard seconded by Virgin was adopted. <br /> <br />Resolved that the Street Committee advise with special legislative committee relative to State <br />appropriations for roads and bridges authorizing said committee to do all things necessary to secure <br />said appropriations and to commence work at once if thought advisable. <br /> <br />A motion by Virgin seconded by Carr that the resignation of S.S. Task as Marshal be accepted – <br />carried. <br /> <br />Motion by Virgin seconded by Carr that Lee Sleback be hired as Marshal at a salary of fifty dollars <br />per month, carried. <br /> <br />The following bills were audited and allowed: <br />The Rudd Lumber Co. – plank and timbers for bridge - $516.33 <br />L. Pollard – work on bridge - $9.50 <br />C.. L Mansur – work on bridge - $8.32 <br />Frank Roath – work on bridge – $8.32 <br />John Blocker – team work on bridge - $10.50 <br />H.B. Nickerson – putting snow on bridge - $5.00 <br />The Penn Oil & Supply Co. – gasoline - $8.20 <br />Davis Bro. – nails & bolts for bridge - $4.00 <br />Walter Booth & Son – one chat. Mort. Rec.
