<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />August 15, 1908 <br /> <br /> <br />The Common Council met at the store of R.E. Dare on August 15, 1908. <br /> <br />Present: <br />R.E. Dare, President, J. deBooy, S.M. Crockett, trustees, W.F. Ghadboune, recorder. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by President at 3:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The following bills were presented and on motion allowed – <br />M.Tourtellorte – sidewalk - $18.00 <br />H.H. Martins – sidewalk - $19.25 <br />Alf Lowe – sidewalk - $11.50 <br />Geo Lowe – sidewalk - $10.00 <br />John Nelson – sidewalk - $5.25 <br />Charles Mausur – sidewalk - $5.00 <br />John Blocker – sidewalk - $3.50 <br />Justus deBooy – fire department - $4.25 <br />J.E. Walley – work on park - $3.50 <br />Universal Portland Cement Co. - ??? - $185.46 <br /> <br />No further business offering adjourned. <br /> <br />W.F. Ghadboune, recorder <br /> <br /> <br />The commission on the sidewalk reported that the cost of building 5 ft walk would not be in excess <br />of $.60 per square yard and of building crossing $1.00 per yard. It was agreed to notify property <br />owner along sidewalk that their proportion of expense would be $.44 cents per yard with a discount <br />of $.10 cent if paid within 10 days. Crossings would be at the rate of $.75 per yard with discount of <br />$.10 cent per ? if paid 10 days. <br /> <br /> <br />
