<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />May 6, 1908 <br /> <br /> <br />The Common Council met at the store of R.E. Dare on Wednesday evening May 6, 1908 at 8 <br />o’clock P.M. <br /> <br />Present: <br />R.E. Dare, President, Justus deBooy, S. M. Crockettt and W. P. Rhoda, trustees and W.F. <br />Ghadboune, recorder. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by President at 8:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Mr. E.L. Ward asked for a permit to build a screened porch or platform in rear of his front store. <br />Said porch to by 14 x 16’ x 8 No windows on East and West side. ? Roof to be covered with <br />fireproof roofing and all woodwork outside to be covered with iron. <br /> <br />DeBooy, Babcock and Salter asked for a satisfaction of specification for Brick Block build by there <br />last November 1907 which was granted. <br /> <br />R.E. Dare was instructed to purchase a lawn mower for Village. <br /> <br />The following bills were presented and on motion allowed: <br />W. P. Rhoda – Freight on gasoline $0.68 <br />R.D. Roach – Plowing snow $2.00 <br />S.S. Trask – Marshall Fire & lighting lamps March $52.00 <br /> <br />No further business offering adjourned. <br /> <br />W.F.
