ELK RIVER TOWN BOARD MEETING March 10, 1964 The town board met at the Court House at 10 o’clock in the morning to conduct the annual town meeting. The polls opened at ten o’clock. The business meeting will be held at 1 o’clock in the afternoon. The polls were declared opened by the clerk. Richard Hinkle was appointed to be moderator for the business meeting. The meeting was called to order by Dick Hinkle. First the treasurer Report was read. The Road and Bridge Fund was found to be overdrawn. The treasurer report was approved. It was moved by E.L. Specht to transfer from Revenue Fund $5,000.00 to Road and Bridge. Seconded by Erwin Specht. Motion carried. A motion was made to raise $3,000.00 by Earl. Seconded by E.L. Specht. Motion carried. M. Peterson moved we raise $7,500.00 for Road and Bridge. Seconded by Erwin Specht. Motion carried. The function of gopher bounty came up again. Oscar Engstrom moved we go into the program as in the past. Seconded by Mel Peterson. Motion carried. The town board appointed Glenn Powell for assessor. Motion made by E.L. Specht. Seconded by Mel Peterson. Motion carried. The town board was instructed to look into the matter of incorporating. The matter of hours for annual town meeting came up. A motion was made by E.L. Specht seconded by Earl Specht to have the hours the same as last year. From ten until 4 PM with business meeting at 1 o’clock. No further business. A motion was made by I.R.
