<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL <br />OCTOBER 9, 1928 <br /> <br />A special meeting of the village council was held at the Library Room on Tuesday Oct 9 1928 <br /> <br />Present – Thos E. Beck, Pres., Geo Cornelius, L.L. Bishop, E.E. Scott, Trustees, W.F. Chadbourne, <br />Clerk <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by the Pres at 5 o’clock P.M. <br /> <br />This meeting was called for the purpose of considering bids for the heating of the new village hall. <br /> <br />Albert Middlestadt presented a bid for a fan system of hot air heating. Also one for gravity system <br />and another for steam. <br /> <br />Harold Caley presented a plan for a fan system similar to the Middlestadt plan. <br /> <br />The council had already decided to adopt the fan system so only considered bids for that system. <br /> <br />The following bids were presented <br />Middlestadt Bros 560.00 complete <br />Caley Hdw Co 540.00 complete <br /> <br />After some discussion a motion was made seconded and declared carried by the Pres that the lowest <br />bid be accepted. That being the bid of the Caley Hdw Co for 540.00 with written <br /> <br />The Council had already listened to a discussion as to the merits of each of the heating plants by <br />their representatives and not seeing much difference as to their merits, both being equally <br />satisfactory could only accept the lowest bid that of the Caley Hdw Co. <br /> <br /> <br />No further business meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />W.F.
