<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL <br />MAY 2, 1927 <br /> <br />The regular monthly meeting of the Village Council was held at the Library room on Monday, May <br />2, 1927 <br /> <br />Present – Roland K. Wilson, Pres, George Cornelius, L.L. Bishop, EE Scott, Trustees, W.F. <br />Chadbourne, Clerk <br /> <br />Visitors – W.H. Clements, W.M. Hamlet and Fred Ayers, Fire Chief <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by the Pres at 8 o’clock PM <br /> <br />Permission was asked by W.M. Hamlet to have his Popcorn Machine on the sidewalk close to his <br />place of business. He agreeing not to obstruct the sidewalk in any way. After the matter had been <br />explained to the Council the Clerk was instructed to issue a permit to W.M. Hamlet. Such permit <br />describing the location of said machine. <br /> <br />After some discussion in regard to the condition of the streets and manner of repairing same. The <br />Council proceeded to the audit of bills. <br /> <br />The following bills were presented and on motion allowed <br />E.R. Power and Light Co repairs on street lights 12.70 <br />Badger Meter Co. repairs on meters 1.27 <br />Pittsburgh Meter Co. Repairs on meters 15.28 <br />Caley Hardware Co battery .35 <br />First National Bank premium on Treas. Bond 25.00 <br />Fred Ayers labor on water works 6.25 <br />Fred Ayers labor at fire barn 8.00 <br />W.H. Clements street work 99.50 <br />Bernie Daniels street work 13.50 <br />A.Ousley street work 7.50 <br />E.R. Fire Dept attending fire at Melgaards 13.00 <br /> <br />The clerk reported that he had succeeded in calling in 3,000.00 of the 26,000.00 6% waterworks <br />bonds due in 1936 at a premium of 110 and is in hopes to get more at that figure. <br /> <br /> <br />No further business appearing, meeting adjourned. <br /> <br /> <br />W.F.
