<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL <br />FEBRUARY 7, 1927 <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Village Council was held at the Library Room on Monday February 7, <br />1927 <br /> <br />Present – Roland K. Wilson, Pres, George Cornelius, L.L. Bishop, E.E. Scott, Trustees, W.F. <br />Chadbourne, Clerk <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by the Pres at 8 o’clock PM <br /> <br />Mr. W.M. Hamlet appeared before the Council in regard to the granting of a permit to C.E. Booth <br />for the operation of a Portable Popcorn and Peanut Wagon at the Corner of the Park at the Bus <br />station. Mr. Hamlet objected to the granting of said permit on the grounds that it would injure the <br />business of permanent business dealers nearby. There being no Ordinance in the Village in regard to <br />Peddlers License some discussion was had relative to the objection of Mr. Hamlet but no action was <br />taken. <br /> <br />Dr. H.T. Melgaard, V.S. Milk Inspector, presented his report in regard to his inspection of cattle and <br />testing of milk sold by the dealers and recommended that the following named persons be granted a <br />license to sell milk and cream in the Village of Elk River during the year 1927. <br /> <br />On motion his report was accepted and clerk instructed to issue license too\[sic\]: Guy LaPlant, P.V. <br />Christian, E.A. Moldinghauer and C.E. Booth. <br /> <br />The following bills were presented and on motion allowed <br />Charles Roggatz coal at fire barn 13.50 <br />Fred Ayers labor on meters 3.60 <br />Fred Ayers janitor at fire barn Jan 1927 10.00 <br />H.T. Melgaard, V.S. Salary Milk Inspector 1926 25.00 <br />Miller-Davis Co blanks for office 4.60 <br />Charles Roggatz coal for Mrs. Dawson and Mrs. Decker 24.05 <br />Elk River Meat Market goods for Mrs. Dawson 4.27 <br />Davis Bros goods for Mrs. Decker 4.68 <br />Star News printing proceedings 2.75 <br />Henry Rupprecht rent of house for Mrs. Decker Jan 10.00 <br />Davis Bros goods for Mrs. Dawson 22.38 <br />E.R.
