<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL <br />NOVEMBER 3, 1924 <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the Village Council was held at the Library Room on Monday Nov 3, 1924 <br /> <br />Present – Roland K. Wilson, Pres, Geo Cornelius and L.L. Bishop, Trustees and W.F. Chadbourne <br />Clerk <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by the Pres at 8 o’clock P.M. <br /> <br />Mr. L.G. Nelson Supt. Of the E.R. Power and Light Co presented a contract to furnish electricity at <br />the pump house for the council to consider as the form of contract was quite lengthly and extending <br />to a term of 5 years it was deemed advisable to refer it to the Co. Atty. for advice before signing. <br /> <br />A petition was presented to the Council signed by 16 ladies living near the Twin City Creamery <br />Building asking the Council to enforce Ordinance No. 19 relative to the prohibiting of deuse smoke <br />issuing from the chimney of their plant. <br /> <br />The clerk was instructed to correspond with H.R. Leonard Supt. Of the Co. stating the situation and <br />also to enclose a copy of Ordinance No. 19. <br /> <br />The following bills were presented and on motion allowed and ordered drawn for their accts. <br /> <br />John Bither Plumbing work at pump house 13.37 <br />E.R. Transfer freight 1.10 <br />Waterous Engine Co welding hydrant 12.00 <br />Standard Oil Co gas for fire engine 10.00 <br />Mid-West Oil Co gas for pump house 26.55 <br />Emil Baufield labor on sewer 1.75 <br />National Meter Co repairs for meter 10.80 <br />I. Jackson st. work 9.45 <br />Jim Knox st. work 9.45 <br />W.H. Thorpe st. work 11.20 <br />John Blocker 14.85 <br />E.R.
