<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL <br />APRIL 7, 1924 <br /> <br />An informal meeting of the Village Council was held on the above date at the Fournier Drug Store. <br /> <br />Present – Roland K. Wilson, Pres, L.L. Bishop, B.E. Fournier and Geo Cornelius, Trustees and <br />W.F. Chadbourne Clerk <br /> <br />This meeting was called for the purpose of considering a proposition from the Automatic Signal <br />Advertising Co of Minneapolis Minn in regard to placing one of their Automatic Traffic Regulators <br />at the crossing of the Jefferson Highway and Princeton Street known as the Babcock Crossing. <br /> <br />The Automatic Signal Co agreeing to place their signal apparatus according to the plan and <br />specification of file in the Office of the Village Clerk at the Babcock Crossing and maintain same <br />free of cost for the period of six years providing the Village of Elk River furnish the Electricity to <br />operate the same. <br /> <br />Mr. Nelson of the Elk River Power and Light Co was called in for the purpose of giving the Council <br />an idea as to the cost of power to operate said lights necessary to maintain the signal. His estimate <br />being approximately 10.00 per month. <br /> <br />After considering the proposition it was moved and carried that the offer of the Automatic Signal <br />Advertising Co be accepted. <br /> <br />No other business to come before this meeting on motion adjourned. <br /> <br />W.F.
