<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL <br />MARCH 21, 1924 <br /> <br />A Special meeting of the Village Council was held at the Library Room on Friday, March 21, 1924 <br /> <br />Present – C.E. Brown, Pres, B.E. Fournier and Geo Cornelius Trustees and W.F. Chadbourne <br />Clerk. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by the President at 8 o’clock P.M. <br /> <br />Minutes of the last meeting read and approved. <br /> <br />Mr. Nelson of the Power and Light Co by request came before the Council in regard to the <br />settlement of their claim for power furnished at the pump house during the last seven months to <br />Mar. 1-24 amount of bill 157.00 during this time the Power and Light Co did not furnish the power <br />regularly. After some discussion a motion was made seconded and declared carried that the sum of <br />22.50 be allowed the Power and Light Co for power used during the 7 months above mentioned. <br /> <br />This account being satisfactory to the Power and Light Co the Clerk was instructed to draw a <br />warrant in the sum above mentioned. <br /> <br />Mr. Longfellow representing the Elk River Concrete Products Co presented his report as to the cost <br />of furnishing water main complete including labor and material. <br /> <br />In completing this work it was found necessary to add 56 ft more than the 375 ft called for in the <br />first instance, also to add a hydrant and a cross to complete the job in a <br /> manner. The extra cost being 101.05. <br /> <br />On motion the clerk was instructed to draw an order in the sum of 101.05 in favor of the Elk River <br />Concrete Products Co to reimburse them the balance of the cost of the water main to the amount of <br />$745.98 to be paid for in water by the village at regular meter rates as agreed upon. <br /> <br />The following bills were presented and on motion allowed and clerk instructed to draw warrants for <br />their respective accounts. <br /> <br />Sherburne Co. Star News Printing 129.25 <br />B.L. Hall stove at pump house 5.00 <br />Charles Selhauer goods for Joe Lloyd 39.74 <br />H.R. Caley hdw 2.66 <br />W.S. Nolt Co repairs on siren and soda 70.50 <br />Plant Rubber Co on fire hose 7.00 <br />E.R. Power and Light Co bal due Mar 1 24.70 <br />Dalys Garage rent to fire engine 19.60 <br />Steven Bernard – labor at pump house 16.50 <br />Fournier Drug Co – fumigators 17.65 <br />st <br />1 National Bank com. Ins. Premium 38.15 <br /> <br />
