<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 6, 1923 <br /> <br />A special meeting of the Village Council was held on Monday Aug 6, 1923 at the Library Room. <br /> <br />Present – C.E. Brown, Pres, Geo Cornelius, Trustee and W.F. Chadbourne, Clerk. Meeting called to <br />order by the Pres at 8 o’clock P.M. <br /> <br />Minutes of the last meeting read and approved. <br /> <br />The following resolution was presented and on motion duly made seconded and declared carried <br />was adopted. <br /> <br />Resolved: <br />That the sum of two hundred (200.00) dollars be appropriated to cover the expense of gravelling the <br />new extension of Hope Street to meeting the Meadowvale road within the Village limits. It being <br />understood that the County do all the grading the Clerk was instructed to draw a warrant for same <br />when work is completed to the satisfaction of the Council. <br /> <br />In regard to the relief of Mrs. Martineau after some discussion the following motion was made <br />seconded and declared carried that the Village Clerk be authorized to draw a warrant to the amount <br />of $6.25 on the poor fund until further notice and forward to Mrs. Martineau. <br /> <br />The clerk was directed to order 12 more water meters from the Badger Meter Co. The Clerk was <br />also instructed to write Mr. F.E. Griswold Pres of the E.R. Power and Light Co in regard to power <br />furnished at the pumping station and ask him to meet the council some time in the near future and <br />discuss other matters also. <br /> <br />The following bills were presented and on motion allowed. <br /> <br />Expense of Special Election July 16, 1923 22.25 <br />J.A. Jaeger D.V.M bill due for services 17.20 <br />Mary Bishop collecting sprinkling money 5.00 <br />Dalys Garage rent engine room July 12.00 <br />L.A. Dare printing proceedings 2.50 <br />Middlestadt Bros goods for water works 19.81 <br />E.Nelson goods for needy 29.87 <br />Total 108.63 <br /> <br />No further business.
