<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL <br />JUNE 25, 1920 <br /> <br />Special meeting of the Village Council held at the offices of the Elk River Lumber Co. <br /> <br />Members present J.H. Virgin, President, Bert Carr, Trustee, Chas Selhauer, D.W. Longfellow, <br />Trustee, M.P. Williams, Clerk <br /> <br />Meeting was called to order by the President at 8:15 P.M. <br /> <br />The purpose of this meeting was to take care of urgent business at this time. <br /> <br />Motion made by Chas Selhauer and seconded by D.W. Longfellow that a galvanized pipe be used <br />from curb cach out to goose neck cupling \[sic\]. Motion accepted and passed by Council. <br /> <br />Motion made by Chas Selhauer and seconded by D.W. Longfellow that John Virgin, Bert Carr, <br />D.W. Longfellow be authorized to purchase all necessary material and hire necessary help pertaining <br />to putting water service connections. <br /> <br />Motion accepted and passed by the council. <br /> <br />Motion made by Chas Selhauer and seconded J.H. Virgin that 300 ft of rubber hose be purchased <br />from W.S. Nolt Coal #1.20 per ft (target brand) and that a warrant be given for all year at 6% int. <br /> <br />Motion accepted and passed by council. <br /> <br />Motion made by D.W. Longfellow and seconded by Chas Selhauer that five lawn seats be <br />purchased. <br /> <br />Motion put to vote and accepted by the council. <br /> <br />Motion made by J.H. Virgin that three health officers be elected or appointed. The following were <br />appointed to act as health officers. Dr. G.E. Page, D.W. Longfellow, Chas Selhauer. Motion voted <br />on and passed by the council. <br /> <br />The following bills were allowed and ordered paid. <br /> <br />1910 Wm Giff Marshall for June salary $75.00 <br />1911 Elk River Power and Light Co 119.00 <br />1912 Elk River green house 19.10 <br />1913 Vernon Cemetery Assn dues for 1919 4.00 <br />1914 Elk River Transfer Co 2.00 <br />1915 J.A. Madison Chief expenses for Moorhead delegation 30.00 <br />1916 M.P. Williams posting notices .75 <br />Total 249.85 <br /> <br />No further business. Meeting adjourned. M.P. Williams Clerk <br />
