<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL <br />JUNE 3, 1920 <br /> <br />rd <br />Special meeting of the Village council was held on Thursday, June 3 1920 at the office of the Elk <br />River Lumber Co. <br /> <br />Members present J.H. Virgin, President, Bert Carr, Trustee, Chas Selhauer, Trustee, D.W. <br />Longfellow, Trustee, M.P. Williams, Clerk <br /> <br />Meeting was called to order by J.H. Virgin, President, at 8:05 P.M. <br /> <br />Motion made by J.H. Virgin and seconded by Chas Selhauer that the following resolution be <br />adapted reusing the preceding resolution made before the council May 15, 1920. <br /> <br />Be it resolved that the Village pay each fireman $1.00 for first hour and $.50 cents for each <br />additional hour there after to members of fire department for their services rendered in case of fire <br />and for all calls for fires outside of village limits the fee of two dollars be paid all members of fire <br />department for the first hour and seventy-five cents for each additional hour. Resolution was voted <br />on and accepted unanimously by the council. <br /> <br />Motion made by D.W. Longfellow and seconded by Bert Carr <br /> <br />That be it further resolved that $50.00 be charged for use of fire department outside of Village to be <br />paid the village by the person who has fire. <br /> <br />It was hereby understood the chemical engine be sent out only by permission of a member of the <br />village council. <br /> <br />Motion made the president the resolution be accepted, second Bert Carr, and approved by the <br />Council. <br /> <br />Clerk was ordered to put notice in the Star News regarding above resolution. <br /> <br />Motion made by Chas Selhauer and seconded by J.H. Virgin that 50 empire meters be ordered from <br />the National Meter Co of Minneapolis, Minn. Meters to register by Gallons. <br /> <br />Clerk was ordered to order meters at once. <br /> <br />Motion made by D.W. Longfellow and seconded by Bert Carr that the plans of Phelps Drake Co to <br />build a pump house be accepted according to the revised plans of Phelps Drake Co. Proposal here <br />included. <br /> <br />Gentlemen: we will furnish all the labor and material necessary to build a pump house complete <br />12’x16’ with 9’ ceiling using 2’x4’ studs. Lathed with medal lath and stucco on the outside <br /> on studs and covered with asphalt shingles all complete according to the engineer <br /> <br />
