<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL <br />MAY 15, 1920 <br /> <br />Special meeting of the village council held at the office of the Elk River Lumber Co on May 15, <br />1920. <br /> <br />Members present J.H. Virgin, President, Bert Carr, Trustee, Chas Selhauer, Trustee, D.W. <br />Longfellow, Trustee. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by the President <br /> <br />The hearing for Hastings petition for water in Park St and Minnesota St. No one appeared against <br />petition. Motion made by Chas Selhauer and seconded by John Virgin that M.P. Williams be <br />appointed Village Clerk. <br /> <br />Motion made by D.W. Longfellow and seconded by Bert Carr that in view of the fact that the <br />volunteer firemen of Elk River have voluntarily agreed to offer their services for one dollar ($1.00) <br />per fire per man instead of the three dollars ($3.00) which had been voted them by the Village <br />Council and also it was decided that $3.00 be set aside to cover part of expenses of sending three <br />delegates to the State Firemens Convention at Moorhead.
