We recently went to market for a park
maintenance worker and had a few highly qualified candidates for the position. Filling this position from that
recruitment was a great option. We also posted internally for this opening for five days to allow interested Local
49 members to apply. None of the members were interested. Following interviews and background and reference
checks, we recommend Jett Brodzinski for the position.

Mr. Brodzinski worked for us as a seasonal park laborer during the summers of 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021.
Following the 2021 season he went to work for Northland Concrete and Masonry and has been there since. We
are pleased to be able to bring him back to the city.

Mr. Brodzinski will start of step A of the Local 49 contract. All pay and benefits will be consistent with union
contract and city policy.

Financial Impact
This is a budgeted position.

Mission/Policy/Goal
The Elk River Mission
Attachments
 None

The Elk River Vision
A welcoming community with revolutionary and spirited resourcefulness, exceptional

service, and community engagement that encourages and inspires prosperity.
Updated: August 2020
