<br /> <br />Request for Action <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />To Item Number <br />Mayor and City Council 4.5 <br />Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by <br />Consent December 5, 2022 Lori Stich, Assistant Finance Director <br />Item Description Reviewed by <br />Resolution: Levy Special Assessments for Lori Ziemer, Finance Director <br />Abatement of Ordinance Violations <br />Reviewed by <br /> <br /> <br />Action Requested <br />Adopt, by motion, a resolution levying special assessments for city abatement costs related to ordinance <br />violations. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br />Section 46-38 of the city ordinance authorizes the city to levy an assessment against property for any <br />costs the city incurs to abate a public nuisance. <br /> <br />All property owners who were in violation of the public nuisance ordinance received a notice informing <br />them they had the opportunity to correct the violation or the city would abate the property and they <br />would be assessed for the costs. <br /> <br />Attached is a list of abated properties and the costs incurred by the city.
