J <br /> Elk River <br /> Municipal Utilities UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br /> TO: FROM: <br /> ERMU Commission Michelle Canterbury—Executive Administrative Manager <br /> MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br /> November 12, 2019 6.1g <br /> SUBJECT: <br /> Staff Update <br /> ACTION REQUESTED: <br /> None <br /> DISCUSSION: <br /> • The 2019 Consumer Privacy Notice is the November bill insert.The notice, which is <br /> required to be sent out annually to our customers, explains how we collect, share, and <br /> protect their personal information. In addition, it is the policy of Elk River Municipal <br /> Utilities (ERMU) to comply with the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act <br /> pertaining to government data, which includes customer data. Attached is a copy of the <br /> bill insert. <br /> • November social media posts will feature a variety of topics including: Auburn Water <br /> Tower project update, energy saving tips for fall, downtown street lighting project, <br /> Utilities United Against Scams Day, three myths about heating your home, and <br /> recognition of ERMU employees. Staff will also be posting public service announcements <br /> such as dates of upcoming commission meetings, holiday business closures, trash pickup <br /> delays, and daylight savings time. <br /> • The ERMU website overhaul initiative continues to progress as planned.The deadline <br /> for proposal submittal was October 11.The proposals were rated and interviews were <br /> conducted with the finalists on October 30. Staff is now in the process of having <br /> conversations with the references provided. The website overhaul initiative is a line- <br /> item project included in the 2020 budget which will be considered for approval by the <br /> Commission in December. <br /> • I recently attended my second session of the Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association <br /> FirstLine Supervision Training held October 9 - 11 in Plymouth, MN.The topics included: <br /> Listening in a Hectic World, Activating Change, Resolving Conflict with Your Peers, and <br /> Personnel Relations. <br /> ATTACHMENTS: <br /> • Bill Insert—2019 Consumer Privacy Notice <br /> Page 1 of 1 <br /> 237 <br />
