UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO:FROM: <br />ERMU Commission Thomas Geiser – Electric Superintendent <br />MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />August 11, 2020 6.1h <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br />DISCUSSION: <br /> Installed 13 new house services, requiring the connection of a secondary line once the <br />customer requests service. <br /> On July 27, a contractor sent a ground rod through Feeder 52 in Otsego, causing a <br />power outage for customers in the area. This required the installation of six splices to <br />repairthe underground feeder. <br /> Staff had to raise the newly installed transformer for the Coborn’s grocery store being <br />built in Otsego, due to a miscalculation of the grading and curb specifications by the <br />developer. <br />Painted the poles of four streetlights on Quantrelle Avenue in Otsego. The bulbs were <br />also upgraded to LEDs. <br />The electric department has begun moving the overhead linefor the planned <br />improvements to County Road 12. <br /> Staff has been working on the final stages of the Jarvis Street rebuild which was <br />completed onAugust 6. This project will improve electricserviceandcapacityfor the <br />area. <br /> Work continues on the Edison Street rebuild which involves replacing the overhead line <br />with underground. <br />The electric department is working oncompleting infrastructure for the MiskeMeadows <br />Sixth Addition. This involves installing transformers, conduits, as well as secondary <br />pedestals, and then heating the line. <br />Staff moved astreetlight at Lion John Weicht Park at the request of the Elk RiverParks <br />and RecreationDepartment. <br />______________________________________________________________________________ <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />103 <br /> <br />
