______________________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br />Page 1 of 1 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO: <br />ERMU Commission <br />FROM: <br />Dave Ninow – Water Superintendent <br />MEETING DATE: <br />September 13, 2022 <br />AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />6.1j <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br />DISCUSSION: <br />• Delivered 15 new water meters, sealed the meter, installed an encoder receiver <br />transmitter, and took curb stop ties. <br />• Completed 15 BACTI/Total Chlorine Residual Samples <br />o All confirmed negative for Coliform Bacteria. <br />o Bacteriological/Disinfectant Residual Monthly Report submitted to the <br />Minnesota Department of Health (MDH). <br />• Completed 23 routine fluoride samples <br />o All samples met MDH standards. <br />o Submitted MDH Fluoride Report <br />• Completed two total trihalomethanes and haloacetic acids samples for the MDH. <br />• MnDOT’s contactor has finished relocating the watermain crossing Highway 169 south <br />of 197th Avenue. The new watermain pipe has passed required testing and is in service. <br />• We received lead and copper test results from the 30 water samples that were collected <br />from households throughout the water system and sent to MDH. Based on the results <br />our water system is well below action levels for both lead and copper. <br />• Water department staff has been working with both Verizon Wireless and Sprint/T- <br />Mobile as they preform upgrades to cell antenna equipment on Gary Street and Johnson <br />Street Water Towers. <br />• The water operators have been locating and exercising watermain valves, performing <br />fire hydrant repairs, and doing preventative maintenance. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />• August 2022 Pumping by Well <br />116
