The level two charger
located in the parking lot in front of the ERMU main office has been repaired and had 7
sessions and provided customers with 44 kWh. The DC fast charger at the Coborn’s fuel
station needs a modem upgrade to allow for connection to the network. The modem
has been ordered and should arrive in 4 to 8 weeks. ERMU staff is exploring options for
the replacement of that ChargePoint Charger.
• Staff is soliciting bids from EV charging vendors for two chargers. Staff is also exploring
the option of selling all charging stations to a third party that will own and operate them
going forward.
• Currently there are 18 active residential solar installation projects under review or
construction in the ERMU service territory. Staff continues to work with interested
customers on a case-by-case basis.
• Staff continues to discuss future options for the energy generation facility at the Elk
River landfill. All contracts end as of October 31, 2022.
• ERMU staff is preparing for the National Drive Electric Week event that will be held at
the Elk River Farmers Market on Thursday, September 29. The event will feature test
drives of the new Ford Lightning pickup truck provided by Cornerstone Ford in Elk River.
There will be volunteers that will display their EV and share their stories on the EV
driving experience. Staff and volunteers will be on hand to answer questions as well as
promote EV Charging and Clean Energy Choice programs for visitors to the booth.
• Working with the Sherburne County United Way to deliver energy efficiency products
for their Community Connect event, occurring October 18. ERMU will provide energy
efficiency kits for qualifying guests and LED bulbs for all guests. This one-day event
provides information on local services and resources available for residents in need. In
addition to the kits there will be the opportunity for participants to receive a free lunch,
winter jackets, haircuts, and other essential items.
108
