<br /> <br />Meeting of the Multipurpose Facility Advisory Commission <br />Held at the Furniture and Things Community Event Center <br /> <br /> Wednesday, September 7, 2022 <br /> <br />Members Present: Chair David Williams, Vice Chair Jacob Peterson, Commissioners <br />Betsy Gulden, Jim Hecker, Matt Westgaard, Mike Westgaard, Kara <br />Walker <br /> <br />Members Absent: Commissioner Mike Cunningham, Greg Loidolt <br /> <br />Staff Present: City Administrator Cal Portner, Parks and Rec Director Michael <br />Hecker, Facility Superintendent Tim Dalton, Customer Service <br />Associate Laura Estby <br /> <br />1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of Multipurpose Facility <br />Advisory Commission was called to order at 6:36 p.m. by Chair Dave Williams <br /> <br /> <br />2. Consider 9/7/2022 Agenda <br /> <br />Moved by Commissioner Mike Westgaard and seconded by Vice Chair <br />Peterson to approve the September 7, 2022 agenda. Motion carried 7-0. <br /> <br />3. Action Items <br />3.1 Review and recommend 2023 FTCenter Budget to City Council. <br /> <br /> Facility Superintendent Tim Dalton presents the draft budget, noting the 2023 Ice <br />Rental Revenue Budget of $815,000 is based on a $5 increase across the board for all <br />users. <br /> <br /> Chair Peterson inquires why Elk River High School gets a discount on their ice rates. <br /> <br />Commissioner Mike Westgaard notes Tier 1 users were established at the first <br />MPFAC Commission meeting. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Matt Westgaard asks for clarification of Tier 1 users. <br /> <br />Commissioner Mike Westgaard requests yearly schedule of when major items are <br />discussed so we can be consistent from year to year. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Jim Hecker adds the August 2021 MPFAC meeting addressed an <br />approved ice rate for the year, but Tier 1 users were not defined. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Matt Westgaard suggests emailing user groups early each year to <br />inform them of the budgeting schedule and give them the opportunity to come to a <br /> <br />
