Updated: August 2020 <br />Request for Action <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />To <br />Parks and Recreation Commission <br />Item Number <br />7.2 <br />Agenda Section <br />Action Item <br />Meeting Date <br />August 10, 2022 <br />Prepared by <br />Michael Hecker, Parks and Recreation Director <br />Item Description <br />Villas at Fillmore Trail Extensions <br />Reviewed by <br />Zach Carlton, Community Development Director <br />Reviewed by <br />Cal Portner, City Administrator <br /> <br />Action Requested <br />Discussion of potential trail extensions from The Villas at Fillmore plat. <br /> <br />Recommend, by motion, trail extensions from The Villas at Fillmore be paid for with park dedication monies due <br />to the city by the developer. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br />Last month the Parks and Recreation Commission reviewed The Villas at Fillmore plat and recommended park <br />dedication to be paid at the applicable rate for the final number of dwelling units. <br /> <br />During the City Council review the developer approached the city to see if the Parks and Recreation Commission <br />might be interested in constructing two trail extensions to complete a trail loop as shown in the trail master plan. <br />The developer proposed paying for the off-site improvements with park dedication monies. <br /> <br />The proposal will provide a loop, connecting the existing neighborhoods to the north and south, along Fillmore, <br />through the proposed subdivision. Alternatively, the developer would install a trail with dead-ends to the north <br />and south leaving no real connectivity to the newly installed infrastructure. <br /> <br />Financial Impact <br />Total due in park dedication will be about $61,314.
