Library Zones Report (Yearly walk through) <br />Elk River Public Library Board <br />The Library Board serves in an advisory capacity to City of Elk River for issues tzlated to the Elk Diver Public T sbrary grounds, thepbyrical building <br />and interior fixtures. The city is responsible for scheduling and coordinating all work to be completed <br />updjwd for October 2021 <br />Zone <br />specifics <br />Zone 1 Entrance; butterfly garden; windmill, prairie grass; rain garden in <br />parking lot, planter boxes for Junior Master Gardeners summer <br />gardening program <br />Zone 2 Front door, front garden, concrete pathways, patio, flag <br />turnaround <br />Zone 3 Rain garden, book drop turnaround, employee parking lot; being <br />a good neighbor <br />Zone 4 Being a good neighbor, grass & rock areas <br />Zone 5 Rain garden, interior and exterior building maintenance, interior <br />furniture, and shelving <br />■ Parking lot rain garden has half of the <br />new plants in. 2nd half of plants will be <br />put in this fall. <br />■ Butterfly garden was weeded by various <br />board members and volunteers. <br />■ Planter boxes eventually installed on <br />northeast side of building facing lake. <br />Delayed in 2021 due to covid-19 <br />restrictions. Tim S. and Karen O. working <br />on together. <br />■ Justin working with Gary on bathroom <br />door lock, entry way wall piece that has <br />fallen. <br />■ No issues <br />■ Justin working on capping brick wall <br />by garbage's. No drainage issues <br />anymore on back side of building and <br />through door. <br />■ All lights were updated with LED lighting <br />per Justin. Robbie will put in <br />maintenance request on bug light that is <br />out, upholstery cleaning of bench in teen <br />area <br />CIP ITEMS IN PROCESS <br />PRIORITY CIP ITEMS <br />1. Ten mesh back computer chairs. Five for the public and five for staff area. <br />2. Replace or re -upholster the chairs by the fireplace. <br />3. Replace the rug in the fiction area. <br />4. Move one of the upholstered chairs in the children's area into the board book area and consider purchasing <br />another or reupholstering. <br />5. Cork floor in teen area may eventually need to be replaced but not a hazard now. Will be a building <br />maintenance issue for the Public Work s Director in the future. <br />6. Shelving to be replaced if needed if it can't be braced <br />NOTE: At such time the board votes for a new <br />CIP ITEMS IDENTIFIED BUT NOT RANKED FOR PRIORITY 0 item or for an improvement, the Board takes <br />it to Robbie Schake, Robbie takes it to Michael <br />Hecker and Michael Hecker forwards to the <br />appropriate city staff for remediation or <br />recommendation. <br />
