Request for Action To Item Number Mayor and City Council 4.9 Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by Consent July 18, 2022 Zack Carlton, Community Development Director Item Description Reviewed by Easement Purchase Agreement: 18454 Waco St. Cal Portner, City Administrator Reviewed by Action Requested Adopt, by motion, a resolution approving the easement purchase agreement for 18454 Waco St. NW and directing staff to execute and deliver all necessary documents required under the terms of the agreement. Background/Discussion Last fall, as a result of the proposed Broadway on 10 apartment project, Council directed staff to move forward with a project to extend Business Center Drive from the Beehive Homes to Waco Street. Staff has since hired a consultant to prepare construction plans and began, at Councils direction, negotiations with the property owner at 18454 Waco St NW regarding the purchase of necessary easements to complete the project. The attached purchase agreement outlines the terms of the city’s acquisition to support the roadway extension. The property owner has reviewed and signed the agreement. Closing will be scheduled on or before October 31, 2022. Financial Impact The agreed upon purchase price is $35,000. The city will also cover all closing costs associated with the transaction.
